Brandon Butler (The Kennedy Center)

Brandon Butler

Brandon Butler has a raw, whiskey-soaked voice with a country-esque twang that doesn't sound at all forced, and the soft acoustic tracks speak of a harsh Midwestern life. He fronted the emo band Boys Life during the mid- to late-1990s, releasing two albums. His next group Farewell Bend showed a more hooky indie-rock style with similar emo leanings. After a hiatus, Mr. Butler re-emerged with Canyon and his unique vocal styles had a more country and folk-based rock sound.
