Adjagas

Formed in October 2004, Adjágas is a Norwegian duo from the Saami community that people the country’s northern hinterland. “Adjágas” is a Saami word describing the moment between sleeping and waking. Inga Elisa Påve and Lawra Somby are devoting their careers to the ancient art of yoiking, this form of Saami chant that recreates a memory or senses. The band brought out an eponymous and highly-acclaimed first CD in 2007.
