NORD/NOBA Center For Dance Company

The NORD/NOBA Center For Dance is a cultural community partnership between the New Orleans Recreation Department (NORD) and the New Orleans Ballet Association (NOBA).  Founded in 1992, The Center was born out of a need to make dance accessible to all school-age children. The program currently serves more than 200 students, ages 6-18, each semester through free dance training at six sites citywide. Through a professional faculty, master classes, a mentor program and field trips, the Center works with each child to cultivate dreams and strengthen futures. The Center has been featured in performances with Luna Negra Dance Theatre, PerksDanceMusicTheater, Urban Ballet Theater, and Dayton Contemporary Dance Company as well as at the Essence Music Festival, New Orleans Dance Festival, Mississippi Children’s Theater Series, and the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.
