Mario Spinetti (The Kennedy Center)

Mario Spinetti

Mario Spinetti grew up in the backstage wings of opera houses which led him to arrange, direct, and perform musical compositions for major television networks as well as take a solo bow at Carnegie Hall, all before he was 16. He graduated as valedictorian of the first class of the Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music at NYU, where he majored in record production, and spearheaded his career as an artist and record producer.  Since graduating last year he's released a self-produced debut EP, which boasts tracks featured not only on Clear channel, satellite, independent, college, and internet radio, but also on national television.Critics often invoke Jeff Buckley, Rufus Wainwright, and Freddie Mercury when they try to characterize his voice – and sometimes Brian Wilson and Phil Spector to describe his productions.  Ultimately, most listeners agree that his instrument, style, and material are waiting to be discovered.
