Alexander-Soares Duo

The Alexander-Soares Duo, comprised of James Alexander on violin and Luciana Soares on piano, was founded in 2005 and is currently in residence at Nicholls State University.  The duo has performed in several venues including the Sala Cecília Meireles, the Theatro José de Alencar, the Conservatório Pernambucano de Musica, and the Cine Banguê in Brazil; the University of Akron and the Baldwin-Wallace College in Ohio; and throughout Louisiana and Mississippi. In 2007, the duo performed and taught master classes at the II Chamber Music Festival Centro Sul e Vale do Salgado in the Brazilian state of Ceará.Violinist James Alexander is a former principal of the Southwest German and St. Gallen Switzerland Symphony Orchestras.
