Tami Meekoo

Tami Kamal Meekoo was born in 1992 in Baghdad, Iraq. At the age of 5, he began to play the piano, studying under Raid Elias. In Baghdad, Meekoo exhibited his prodigious talents in performances at Al-Rasheed Theatre, Al-Rawaq Hall, Al-Drobi Hall, Al-Alwiya Club, The National Theatre, Martyr’s School, Baghdad College, and at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph Theatre. In light of the ever-harsh conditions of war-torn Iraq, which severely limited his ability to pursue his musical studies, Meekoo moved to Amman, Jordan in 2004, where he continued his studies with Agnes Bashir Dzodtosoeva, director general of the Arab Alliance of Women in Music. In Jordan, Meekoo was invited to participate in a “Healing Through Music” summer program, under the patronage of HRH Princess Basma Bint Talal, for talented young Iraqi music and ballet students.
