Ahmed Fathi

Ahmed Fathi was born in Alhodayda which lies on the coast of the Red Sea in Yemen. When he was eight, he became interested in lute instruments. At the age of twelve he became a brilliant artist in his school, following in the footsteps of Yemeni and Arab artists. He was affected by the most famous lute performers in both Yemen and other Arab countries of that period. After finishing his studies in the preparatory stage, he joined the "High Institute of Arab Music" in Cairo. He was awarded many prizes for being the best lute performer in many festivals all over the world. In London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall, Fathi successfully performed his own compositions with lute, Yemeni and Arabic songs, and the concerto of "Aranjway Rodrigo". He took part in the Arab Music Festival (1994, 1998) in the Cairo Opera House. He participated in the Arab lute Festival "Sultanate Oman" in 2005. Fathi participated in the Doha Festival in January, 2006. He was honored in "Sanaa" in Yemen in 2004, and performed some of his own compositions for this occasion. He also took place in the Lyric Dubai Festival in 1998, the Lyric Nagran Festival in 2003 and the Ganadebia Festival in 2004.

Mohamed Salem Bagawitta is a Yemeni percussionist who plays Tabla, Reek, and Bongoz. He is considered to be one of the best in his field because of his professionalism. He has collaborated with many famous people including, Mohamed Abdouh, Abu Bakr Salem, and Ahmed Fathi.

Atef Abdel Rahman Hamouda has been playing for thirty six years. Hamouda can play all kinds of Arabic and oriental percussion in the styles of El Masria, El Khaligia, El Shamia, and El Maghribia. He has also played with many famous Arabian and Egyptian super stars.

Shraf Hanafy Hassan Kanmbar has been a professional percussionist for twenty years. He is known for playing Konga, Bongoz, and many of other instruments. Kanmbar has participated in many differnet concerts and festivals all over the world.

Doaa Abd Rabbo is a member of the Cairo Symphony Orchestra. She graduated from the Cairo Conservatory where she studied flute with Prof. Inas Abdel Daiem. With the symphonic Orchestra of her Conservatory, she participated in several festivals in Russia, France, Turkey, Morocco and China. In 2000, Rabbo was a member of the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra. She has performed as a soloist with the Symphony Orchestra of Alexandria and gave numerous concerts with chamber music ensembles at the Cairo Opera House, and other cultural centres in Egypt. She has received several awards and medals in her country. In 2003, she won 1st prize at the competition of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, and in 2005 the 1st prize at the International Flute Meetings in Volos, Greece. Rabbo currently teaches flute at the Cairo Conservatory.
