The Fourth Stream (The Kennedy Center)

The Fourth Stream

The Fourth Stream is a collaboration between guitarist John Lee, bassist Matt Grason, and drummer Sriram Gopal, all regulars of the District's music scene. The trio set out with the goal of playing improvisational music that maintains a steady groove while offering an international flavor. Drawing from South Asian, Middle Eastern, and other global influences, in addition to contemporary jazz and rock sounds, the trio offers an exciting evening of music to the uninitiated and aficionados alike. The band often calls on friends to spice up their performances, and today's performance will feature Carnatic violinist/vocalist Rangashree Varadarajan and flautist Geoff Rohrbach.Photo by Erika Viktoria Horn.
