Leah Wrobel (The Kennedy Center)

Leah Wrobel

Originally from Israel, Leah Wrobel has been dancing, teaching and creating in the Baltimore / Washington area since 2005. She began her dance training at age eight at the Menashe Dance School, and her education over the ten years she spent at the school spanned classical ballet, contemporary dance, Graham and Cunningham techniques, jazz, choreography, dance notation, Feldenkrais, Pilates, anatomy, dance history and music. At eighteen she entered the Mathe Asher School of Performing Arts in Gaa’ton, Israel to expand her pre-professional training. Her education took her across continents to New York City when she was accepted to the Alvin Ailey summer training program, and later to the Netherlands to study at Rotterdam’s Dance Academy in order to re-invest in her technique. In addition, Leah has studied choreography from Tel Aviv-based artist, Yasmin Godder, a leading voice in contemporary dance both here and abroad and recipient of the Bessie Award in 2001.
