Johann Bach

Johann Sebastian Bach was born in Eisenach, Germany on March 21, 1685. During his lifetime, Bach was better known as an organist than as a composer. It wasn't until the 19th century that his genius came to be recognized. Since that time his reputation has grown steadily. As choir director, Bach composed some 300 sacred cantatas.
