Jeffrey Weisner
Jeffrey Weisner joined the National Symphony Orchestra bass section in 1995. He is active in venues around the region and the country as a performer and teacher. He received his undergraduate degree in music at Boston University, and his Master of Music degree at the Peabody Conservatory, where he studied with former NSO Principal Bass Harold Robinson. From 1991 to 1993, Mr. Weisner was a member of the New World Symphony in Miami and from 1993 to 1995 he was a member of the Delaware Symphony.

In 2005 he joined the double bass faculty of the Peabody Conservatory.
Mr. Weisner has appeared as a concerto soloist with the Crossroads Chamber Orchestra, the Eclipse Chamber Orchestra, and the Annapolis Chamber Orchestra. As an educator, he has presented master classes at venues including San Francisco Conservatory, the Interlochen Arts Academy and the Colburn School of Music. He is dedicated to creating and supporting new music and has commissioned and premiered new works by several composers, including a major new work by Peabody composition faculty Michael Hersch for solo double bass. He has appeared as a chamber musician on a variety of NSO-sponsored chamber series as well as at the Corcoran Gallery and the Austrian Embassy. Mr. Weisner performs on two basses: an instrument by Abraham Prescott ca. 1830 and a bass by Xavier Jacquet ca. 1900.
