American tenor Corey Evan Rotz has sung over 400 performances with WNO since his debut in Der Rosenkavalier in 1995, in roles ranging from Bacchus in Ariadne auf Naxos (2009) to supporting roles in Salomé (2010), The Queen of Spades (2002), Les Contes d’Hoffmann (2001), Parsifal (2000), Fedora (1998), and Elektra (1997). He returned last season to reprise the role of Arturo in Lucia di Lammermoor. Other appearances have included his LA Opera debut as Arbace in Idomeneo, Narraboth in Salome for Arizona Opera, as well as his Carnegie Hall debut as Raymond in Tchaikovsky’s The Maid of Orleans, a role he also sang for WNO alongside Mirella Freni in 2005. He also appeared as Cassio in Otello in WNO’s 2002 tour of Japan with Plácido Domingo in the title role.
