Frankie Gavin and DeDannan (The Kennedy Center)

Frankie Gavin and DeDannan

Frankie Gavin, from Galway, Ireland,  is one of the most visionary and inspiring virtuoso Irish fiddlers in the world; the founder, heart and core of the legendary band De Dannan.  Frankie Gavin and  De Dannan has performed the world over, from The National Concert Hall in Dublin, to the Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow, to the White House.  Frankie also founded the band Frankie Gavin and the Hibernian Rhapsody, and has performed with such stellar artists such as the Rolling Stone and jazz violinist Stephane Grappelli. For many years traditional super group De Dannan were the forerunners in the Irish traditional music world, but after 33 years, 14 albums, and a number of changes in the line-up, the group disbanded in  2003. Now original founding member Frankie Gavin has unleashed a new De Dannan, which in his own words will reflect a De Dannan of the 21st century.
