VSA International Young Soloists (The Kennedy Center)

VSA International Young Soloists

The VSA International Young Soloists Program identifies and supports outstanding young musicians with disabilities in pursuit of a career. Applicants are adjudicated by VSA affiliates at the state level and by a national panel of music industry professionals. Past award recipients have gone on to become major international recording artists, American Idol finalists, and soloists with some of the world's top symphonies.

This concert recognizes outstanding musicians from around the world, ages 14-25, who have a disability: percussionist Paul E. Gavin of Tampa, Florida; sarangi player Zohaib Hassan of Pakistan; and vocalists Brian Michael Moore of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Colette Cecile Young of Washington, D.C.

The four 2010 awardees of the VSA International Young Soloists Program, which identifies and supports outstanding young musicians with disabilities in pursuit of a career, perform in this annual concert. They are: Ju Hyeon Han, a 24-year-old soprano from South Korea; Dotan Nitzberg, a 22-year-old pianist from Israel; Blessing Offor, a 21-year-old singer/songwriter/pianist from Connecticut; and Aria Stiles, a 16-year-old violinist from Minnesota.
