James Ferris seeks to use language to create experience for readers, viewers, audiences--moments of clarity, intense vexation, and something like joy. His disability experience deeply informs his work. He is the author of Facts of Life and the award-winning book The Hospital Poems. His writing has appeared in dozens of publications, including The Georgia Review, Poetry Daily, Michigan Quarterly Review, and Text and Performance Quarterly.
