Catherine Larson is a Chicago-based multimedia artist whose work has been exhibited nationally. With her emphasis on kinetic art and printmaking, she often pulls inspiration from her personal experiences. At the age of 12, Larson underwent surgery for idiopathic scoliosis to correct a curvature of the spine. Her work is imbued with personal experience and revolves around themes of medicine and childhood experience. The use of metal in her sculptures acts as a symbol of perceived strength and stability.
