Isaac Powell

Isaac Powell’s art is based on the conflict and problem solving of visual equations. Powell, who was born without a right hand, paints and draws with acrylic paint and graphite on birch plywood. He uses a variety of images to transmit ideas about life and growth, or the lack of either. Through his work, Powell attempts to convey his own personal artistic culture and to reveal to others what it means to be an artist working with a disability. Powell, who lives in Richmond, Kentucky, received his master of fine arts degree from Washington State University in 2007.
