Sophie Kahn was born in London and grew up in Melbourne. Her work, which has been exhibited internationally, owes its Victorian-futurist aesthetic to the interaction of old and new media, or the digital and the analog. It encompasses media from 3-D laser scanning and digital animation to 2-D and 3-D printing and bronze casting. Kahn trained as a photographer and received a bachelor of arts in fine art and art history from Goldsmiths College, University of London. She returned to Melbourne after graduation and studied spatial information architecture at the RMIT University.
