Pedro Luis Mejia Granja
Pedro Luis Mejia Granja began to discover the world of art about 15 years ago, first by painting, then with drawing and sculpting, and he recently began experimenting with photography. Mejia Granja, who has paraplegia, uses his art to recreate the surroundings of his homeland of Guatemala and its rich culture. He projects his own vision through proactive imagery. His disability inspired him to create images condemning the status of disabled people in his country, as a wakeup call to the viewer’s social conscience. Mejia Granja has exhibited locally and recently completed his bachelor’s degree in communication and design at Galileo University in Guatemala City.
