Simone Alberghini

Italian bass-baritone Simone Alberghini was last seen at WNO as Figaro in last season’s The Barber of Seville.  He brings his warm, supple voice, incisive musicianship, and handsome stage presence to leading roles of the Italian repertoire. Praised for his “astute phrasing and considerable theatrical charm” he recently performed the title role in Don Giovanni with the Teatro La Fenice, Mustafà in L’Italiana in Algeri at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples and at the Seattle Opera, and Dandini in La Cenerentola with the Metropolitan Opera and with the Glyndebourne Festival. Additional appearances include Dulcamara in L’Elisir d’Amore at Opera Colorado, Tablot in Maria Stuarda at Teatro alla Scala, Escamillo in Carmen at Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, Don Basilio in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at LA Opera, and Ramfis in Aida at the Wiener Staatsoper.  He is a winner of Plácido Domingo’s Operalia competition.
