Luca Salsi

Born in San Secondo Parmense, Luca Salsi graduated in singing at the Conservatory “Arrigo Boito” of Parma under the guidance of the soprano Lucetta Bizzi. He later attended masterclasses with the baritone Carlo Meliciani. He made his operatic debut at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna in Rossini’s La scala di seta production (1997). A winner of 2000 “Viotti” Competition in Vercelli, he has established an international career, performing regularly on some among the world’s most prestigious concert stages and opera houses including Metropolitan, Teatro alla Scala, Washington National Opera, Los Angeles Opera, New Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv, Staatsoper in Berlin, Teatro Regio in Parma, Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova, Teatro San Carlo in Napoli, Teatro Filarmonico in Verona, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Festival Puccini in Torre del Lago. He worked with such conductors as Mark Elder, Gabriele Ferro, Daniele Gatti, Placido Domingo, Gustavo Dudamel, Julia Jones, Nicola Luisotti, Pier Giorgio Morandi, Renato Palumbo, Donato Renzetti, Emanuel Villaume and Alberto Zedda, and with important stage directors including Daniele Abbado, Robert Carsen, Hugo De Ana, Giuseppe Patroni Griffi, Antony Minghella, Lamberto Puggelli, Maurizio Scaparro and Franco Zeffirelli.
