The programs of the DeVos Institute of Arts Management at the Kennedy Center, formerly the Kennedy Center Arts Management Institute, offer practical training to arts managers and board members at all stages of professional development in the United States and around the world. The centerpiece of the Institute is its Capacity Building programs, which offer technical assistance to arts managers and their boards through seminars, web chats, and on-site consultations. Abdul Kinyenya, from Kampala, Uganda, is a founding member of BreakDance Project Uganda which uses hip-hop to generate positive social change. A co-founder of professional dance crew Tabu-Flo, he has worked extensively with youth throughout Uganda.

Self-taught hip hop dancer Abraham Pari Seis, from La Paz, Bolivia, is part of the Alto Estilo Crew. He teaches at-risk youth and he hopes to open a dance academy. He has participated in workshops with international break dancers including Aysha Upchurch (U.S.) and B-Boy Samurai (Brazil).

Hasan Rizvi, from Karachi, Pakistan, founded the BodyBeat Dance Studio in Pakistan where he has taught hip hop dance to over 1,800 students since its opening.

Modern dancer Hida Guerrero, from Guayaquil, Ecuador, has been dancing for 12 years with little opportunity to study hip hop dance in Ecuador. She plans to return from her tour in the U.S. and create a teen hip hop group at her dance school.

Turkish dancer and choreographer Kadir Memis, currently based in Berlin, Germany, founded the break dance crew Flying Steps and is one of the founders of Dance Unity—a worldwide dance association. He incorporates many forms of dancing into his technique including Turkish folkdance.

Self-taught hip hop dancer Min Htun, from Rangoon, Burma, has been dancing for over 11 years though dance is not considered a useful profession in Burma. He hopes to open a dance school where students can feel free to participate in and enjoy dance regardless of societal perception.

Nonie Sachdeva, from Mumbai, India, is a member of the dance group Buskers. A dance instructor in several styles, she participated in a dance competition on Zee TV.

Yvonne Zinyoro, from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, is the only female in the four-member ROLX. She has participated in several competitions, including the African Hip Hop Indaba in South Africa. A dance teacher at several schools in Bulawayo, she works to inspire young girls to consider dance as a profession.
