Renaissance Music Academy

The Renaissance Music Academy Chamber Orchestra, founded in the spring of 2001 under the leadership of David Erlich, is comprised of young musicians from 10-18 years old. These student performers attend the Renaissance Music Academy of Virginia, a non-profit community music school founded in 1993 by Teresa and David Erlich. After only two years of existence, the orchestra was invited to perform the inauguration of former Governor Mark Warner. The group was also chosen as the premiere orchestra to represent the southeastern United States in a national conference in Atlanta, sponsored by the National Guild of Community Music Schools of the Arts, an organization representing more than 300 community music schools throughout the country. In 2003, the orchestra was again invited to perform for one Governor Warner’s private events in the state capitol in Richmond, Virginia.
