Brooklyn native Charenée Wade, an alumnus of the Center’s Betty Carter’s Jazz Ahead residency program, served as a judge with the late Dr. Billy Taylor for the Jazzmobile Vocal Competition in New York and was runner-up at the 2010 Thelonious Monk International Vocal Competition.
