Vintage Wildflowers

Vintage Wildflowers is: Dana Fitzgerald Maher - Celtic harp, vocals, bodhran Melissa Schiavone - Irish flute, whistle, lead vocals, banjo Abby Bozarth - fiddle, mandolin, vocals, guitarIn their first few months together, Vintage Wildflowers, then known as Crossroads, opened the 2009 Summerstage Festival with a sold out performance at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, headlined the Midwest Harp Festival and performed at the O’Flaherty Irish Music Retreat.  Their February 2010 performance at the University of Tulsa (the first with the band's current line-up) featured a standing room only crowd overflowing the concert hall into the lobby and hallways of the building.   March 2010 saw the band's first major festival appearance (at the North Texas Irish Festival), the release of their debut CD "The Upstairs Sessions" and an "in studio" performance on Public Radio Tulsa's Folk Salad.   Other notable 2010 appearances included Americana Unplugged, the American Heritage Music Festival, OK Mozart International Music Festival, the Oklahoma Celtic Festival, Claremore Bluegrass and Chili Festival and the band's return to Tulsa Performing Arts Center's Summerstage Festival.  By May 2010, the band was on the hunt for a distinctive new name, one that would reflect both their respect for traditional music and their desire to create a style completely their own.
