Javier Arrey

Chilean baritone Javier Arrey is a graduate of WNO’s Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program, where he sang in many productions including Madama Butterfly (2011), Don Pasquale (2011), Iphigenie in Tauride (2011), Don Giovanni (2012), Manon Lescaut (2013), and Tristan and Isolde (2013). He will be seen in summer 2014 as Don Giovanni at the Castleton Festival. Other upcoming engagements include Amelia al Ballo at Opéra de Monte-Carlo under the baton of Plácido Domingo, a performance of Luis Bacalov’s Misa Tango with the Choral Arts Society of Washington at the Kennedy Center, and Lieder Eines Fahrenden Gesellen of Mahler with Apollo Orchestra in Washington, D.C. He recently sang Iago in Sir Peter Hall’s production of Otello at the Castleton Festival under the baton of Maestro Lorin Maazel.
