Old Mill Steel Drum Band

Walking through the hallways of Old Mill High School, you will recognize the sounds of the strings, band instruments, and singers practicing. One sound that you may not recognize is the sound of our Steel Drum Band.  The Old Mill Steel Drum Band is a group of 25-30 performers who play a unique style of music from Trinidad right here in Maryland. The Old Mill Steel Drum Band started in 2000 with four students who gave up their lunch period to play the steel pans. Now, the program has grown to around 80 students and still growing.
