Canadian soprano Shantelle Przybylo is in her first year of WNO’s Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program. She was last seen with WNO as Zerlina in Don Giovanni (Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Performance) and in the premiere performance of the American Opera Initiative. She made her professional debut with Tapestry New Opera Company as Nataliya in The Enslavement and Liberation of Oksana G. Other engagements include covering the title role in Lillian Alling with the Banff Centre’s Opera as Theatre program. She made her singing debut in Europe in 2010, performing Zerlina in Don Giovanni with the Centre for Opera Studies in Italy (COSI). She has sung Arminda in La finta giardiniera at the Royal Conservatory of Music, and Miss Titmouse in Too Many Sopranos and Rose in Street Scene for the University of Western Ontario Opera Workshop. She holds a master’s degree in music performance from the University of Toronto under the mentorship of Lorna MacDonald. In 2012 she studied at Wendy Nielsen’s St. Andrews by the Sea Opera Workshop program.
