Maté, a recipient of a Jonathan Larson Grant and the ASCAP Foundation's Cole Porter Award, has written lyrics, music, and/or books for new works such as The Trouble With Doug (with Will Aronson); The Story of Jo-Beth; Middle School Mysteries; and an untitled song cycle currently in development under the direction of Victoria Clark. Under the auspices of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP), the Kennedy Center presents an evening of new musical theater.
