Coral Cantigas

Coral Cantigas is the only chorus of its kind in the Washington, D.C. area and most of the nation. Cantigas’s mission is to increase awareness and appreciation of the many rich styles of Latino (Latin American, Spanish and Caribbean) choral music, and promote diversity by uniting communities through the joyful and transformative power of music. Coral Cantigas provides artistic excellence in creative programming; educational workshops; and bilingual, cross-cultural and collaborative performances to national and international audiences.

Coral Cantigas (U.S.)

3/3/15: Coral Cantigas (U.S.)

Directed by Puerto Rico-born Diana Sáez, this local chorus performs many styles of Latin American, Spanish, and Caribbean choral music in Spanish, Portuguese, and indigenous languages and dialects of the Americas—such as Nahuatl, Quechua, and Creole—with bilingual texts to allow audiences to follow along.
