American mezzo-soprano Cindy Gold (Parthy Ann) makes her WNO debut in this production after previously playing the role at Lyric Opera of Chicago. Recent Chicago-area engagements include Measure for Measure at the Goodman Theatre; Love, Loss, and What I Wore for Broadway in Chicago; Awake and Sing, Pride and Prejudice, and Jekyll and Hyde at Northlight Theatre; and Moises Kaufman’s 33 Variations workshop with About Face Theatre and Tectonic Theater Project. Last summer she played Mrs. Paroo in The Music Man at The Glimmerglass Fesitval, which was also performed at the Royal Opera House Muscat in Oman. She won a Joseph Jefferson Award for playing Gertrude Stein in Frank Galati and Stephen Flaherty’s new musical Loving Repeating. She was seen in the pilot episode of TNT’s new show Leverage and recently wrapped on the indie film The Drunk, directed by Paul Fleschner and William Tanoos. She is an Associate Professor of Theatre and Head of Acting at Northwestern University.
