Kathryn Lewek

A double prize winner at the 2013 Operalia World Opera Competition, soprano Kathryn Lewek is rapidly establishing herself as one of the most promising emerging artists today. This season, engagements include her Metropolitan Opera and Washington National Opera debuts performing the Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute, which she also performs with the Lyric Opera of Kansas City as well as in a return to the Deutsche Oper Berlin.  Additionally, she sings the role of the Fairy in Cendrillon with New Orleans Opera, Angelica in Handel's Orlando with the Hobart Baroque in Tasmania, and the soprano solo in Handel's Messiah with the Oratorio Society of New York at Carnegie Hall. Future seasons see returns to the Bregenz Festival and the Metropolitan Opera, a new production of Lucia di Lammermoor, and company debuts with Welsh National Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, Houston Grand Opera, and Canadian Opera Company.
