Japanese soprano Eri Nakamura makes her US debut as Pamina in The Magic Flute. She first shot to prominence when she stepped in to replace Anna Netrebko at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, as Giulietta I Capuleti e i Montecchi. She then reached both the Song and Orchestra Prize finals at Cardiff Singer of the World in 2009 and became a member of the ROH Jette Parker Young Artist Programme. In 2010 she joined the Bayerische Staatsoper ensemble. Roles included Susanna, Pamina, Zerlina, Giulietta, Arbate Mitridate rei di Ponto, Naiad Ariadne auf Naxos, Woglinde Der Ring des Nibelungen, and Liù Turandot, a role which she previously debuted at Deutsche Oper Berlin.
