The 2013 DC Asian American & Pacific Islander Literary Arts & Performance Poetry Festival (LAPP Fest) presents an evening of spoken word poetry showcasing the breadth and texture of AAPI narratives.LAPP Fest Co-Director Simone Jacobson is a Burmese American writer, performer, teaching artist, and cultural worker. She earned an MA in Arts Management from American University and a BA in French Language and Literature from the University of Maryland, where she also studied dance. She has performed and taught in France, Switzerland, and the U.S.
