This quintet was selected from a highly competitive international pool of women applicants. The All-Stars performed at the 30th Annual IAJE Conference in Toronto this past January, and is scheduled to tour three major European jazz festivals this summer: Jazz A Vienne (Vienne, France), the North Sea Jazz Festival (The Hague, Netherlands) and the Umbria Jazz Festival (Umbria, Italy).The International Association for Jazz Education (IAJE) Sisters In Jazz Program is founded on the idea of women helping women to achieve success in a profession still dominated by men. The stated mission of the IAJE Sisters in Jazz program is to encourage and promote the participation of young women in the art of jazz music, both educationally and professionally, through the implementation of a mentoring program linking young women with established women jazz musicians.
