Matapat

Benoit Bourque, Gaston Bernard and Simon Lepage are collectively known as Matapat. The Quebec-based ensemble delights audiences of all ages with their infectious brand of French-Canadian music and dance. The trio returns to the Kennedy Center to once again let loose on fiddle, accordion, bass, mandolin, bones, guitar, spoons, vocals and foot-stomping rhythms. Champion step-dancer Benoit Bourque performs jigs, reels and quadrilles, and harmonizes with Gaston Bernard on songs and ballads introduced in English and sung in French. Simon Lepage adds to the mix his background in jazz, classical and world music.
