Barbara Johnson Tucker

Barbara Johnson Tucker began her musical career early, singing with her mother, brother and sister as The Johnson Family. In 1969 Tucker spent a year in New York City as a cast member of the award-winning Broadway drama, ôThe Great White Hope,ö starring James Earl Jones. While there she made her debut recital at the Carnegie Recital Hall and also filmed several nationally-shown commercials. Now a retired manager from Bell Telephone, Tucker is pursuing her ministry and career full-time. She has been a regular anthem soloist for the Houston Oilers, Houston Rockets and sang at the state funerals of Mickey Leeland and Barbara Jordan.
