Ross Karre (visual design) - is a Southern California based visual artist and percussionist interested in engaging a variety of temporal arts practices. With formal studies in music, video, and cinema studies, Ross draws from his expertise in these fields while employing elements from a variety of disciplines: concert music, theatre, lighting/projection design, cinema, and installation. He has extensive formal training as a percussionist with degrees from Interlochen Arts Academy, Oberlin Conservatory and the University of California San Diego culminating in a terminal degree (DMA) from UCSD in July of 2009. His primary teachers include Steven Schick, Michael Rosen, and Amy Lynn Barber. He has worked with many important figures in American and European contemporary music including Pierre Boulez, Harrison Birtwistle, Helmut Lachenmann, Roger Reynolds.
