Berta Rojas (The Kennedy Center)

Berta Rojas

Praised by the Washington Post as a ôguitarist extraordinaire,ö Berta Rojas is a Dorian Recordings artist who has performed in such venues as the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Coolidge Auditorium at the Library of Congress, South Bank Center in London, and the Ravello Festival in Italy. She has released two CDs: Concierto Latinoamericano and Intimate Barrios. The latter recording was selected by Gramophone UK as ôone of the top three recommended recordings for the music of Barrios,ö which is a high compliment indeed in that the other two recordings are those of John Williams, considered by many to be one of the world's finest guitarists. In 1996 the Kennedy Center selected Ms. Rojas as a Kennedy Center Fellow of the Americas in recognition of artistic excellence.
