Carmencristina Moreno

Carmencristina Moreno was born in East Los Angeles to professional show-business singer-composer duo of Mexican traditional folk artists Los Moreno and was taken by her father and her Texas-born mother, to his birthplace in Jalisco, Mexico. El Dueto De Los Moreno had been pioneers in the early Mexican music scene in Los Angeles, California during the 1930’s, 40’s and 50’s, and were composers, radio and recordings stars who performed throughout the Southwest. Her father, Luis M. Moreno, composed over 300 songs, which are considered ‘standards’ in the Mexican ranchera genre, so it was only natural that Carmencristina Moreno follow in her family’s musical footsteps. Her parents taught her how to play Mexican folk guitar of the many regional music styles of Mexico, but being raised in the USA and influenced by the many North American musical artists, she’s become musically bi-lingual.
