CanUs Jazz Band

The Canadian CanUs Jazz Band was named the most requested band at the Sun Valley Jazz Festival of 2000 and was also the top selling band at festivals in both La Crosse and Madison, Wisconsin. The group includes: Jim Armstrong (Trumpet/Trombone) is best known to jazz festival fans as leader and cornet player of the Phoenix Jazzers and as trombonist in The Dominion Jazz Bank, his third great talent as a singer is highlighted in CanUS. He is responsible for the arrangements of “Lonesome Road”, “Diga Diga Doo”, and “Boodle-Am Shake”. The most recent of his accolades is being named “Gentleman of Jazz” at the San Diego Dixieland Jazz Festival in 2001. Toni Blodgett (Piano) played for ten years with the Dixieland Express Band, later forming her own group, which has had considerable success both at home in Victoria and in jazz festivals throughout the western and mid-western states.
