Singer/songwriter Kate Long, of Charleston, WV, specializes in Appalachian traditional music. Her “Who’ll Watch the Homeplace” became the International Bluegrass Music Association Song of the Year (1994) after Laurie Lewis recorded it. Long is also the host and producer of “In Their Own Country,” a 14-part series on West Virginia Public Radio featuring different writers and authors from the Mountain State.
Singer/songwriter Todd Burge has fronted many bands over the last couple decades, ranging from punk to bluegrass, but is probably best known as a solo performer, playing his self-described “stuck between Americana and a weird place” acoustic country blues tunes.
