Los Jaivas was formed in Chile in 1963. Their music is a celebration of the people of the Americas: their rhythms, instruments and spirits. They perform with native instruments such as the kultrún, trutrucas, charango, cuatro, zampoñas and quenas, mixing them with synthesizers, piano, drums, guitars and electric bass.
Among the important milestones in the band’s history, the symphonic work of Los Jaivas deserves a special mention. In 1973 they performed their first concert with a symphonic orchestra in Vina del Mar, Chile.
