Galax String Band: New Ballard’s Branch Bogtrotters, a hot old-time string band from Galax, Virginia, was winner of the Old-Time Band Competition at both the 1999 and 2000 Galax Old Fiddler’s Convention. The group takes its name from the original Bogtrotters, the famous Galax-area band of the 1930s.
