Tehreema Mitha – Blue Jeans

Mitha’s work examines immigrants, immigration, and the symbolic role of jeans in the United States. The music for the piece includes contemporary western popular music combined with North Indian classical music and jazz. Part of the ninth annual Local Dance Commissioning Project, which features world premiere commissioned dance performances by Washington-area choreographers.
