This eye-catching watch is based on the pattern of the chandelier in our Opera House. The face features the chandelier's sunburst in shiny stainless steel. Band is black leather, inside is a Japanese watch movement. Face is 1" in diameter, watch is water resistant.

Equally as dramatic as the action on the stage of the Opera House is the light fixture above it. This exquisite Lobmeyr crystal chandelier is fifty feet wide and arranged in the design of a brilliant, multi-rayed sun bursting into a galaxy of glittering lights. Set into the high dome of the ceiling, it has 1,735 light bulbs. Once every three years, a stage hand braves the dizzying heights to clean the crystal and relamp the fixtures.

One of the loveliest sights in the Kennedy Center is the dimming of the Opera House chandelier in the moments before the curtain goes up. Its clear, sparkling light gradually softens to tones of peach, then glowing apricot, and to deep copper before final darkness. Austria's J & L Lobmeyr Company has made an art of designing light since 1823. This spectacular chandelier was a generous gift from Austria in honor of the memory of President Kennedy.
