Jacquline Kennedy Collection Berry Pin
This beloved pin was a gift from JFK for the birth of John F. Kennedy Jr. (November 27, 1960). It became one of Jackie's most prized possessions.
Though he was organizing his new Presidential Administration at the time of his son's birth, JFK found the time to go to New York to have this gift made to order for Jackie. He worked with the chief designer at Tiffany's to come up with a design that represented both of their children. One berry, slightly larger and with slightly larger stones, represented Caroline; the smaller berry stood for the new baby, John Jr. The pin was presented to a pleasantly surprised Jackie on January 10, 1961, ten days before JFK took office.
She was so proud of the pin, and its special charm, that she wore the pin on her first trip abroad as First Lady to Canada in May 1961.
The original pin, on permanent exhibition at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library in Boston, is still owned by Caroline.Jackie would wear her pin either with the berries pointing up or down.
This magnificent replica is made entirely with hand-set and hand-polished Swarovski crystals. Even the box is special. Its pillow is handmade to match the form of the individual pin, just like Jackie's.
