Jacqueline Kennedy Collection
The glittering design of the Floral Drop-Leaf Dual Earrings is rich with history. The very first anniversary gift to Jackie from then-Senator JFK in 1954, these earrings were given to Jackie the night before their anniversary date. This was in keeping with what would become a life-long custom of giving gifts the day before a holiday. As they had many friends and a large family, the two exchanged gifts in a more private setting the night before anyone else would give them gifts.
Pearl Earrings Black or White
Worn throughout her entire life, the original set was made at Tiffany’s New York with the black precious pearls as one unit. Jackie felt the black pearl was too limiting, so a year later she asked them to make them interchangeable and add the white pearl. Often Jackie would wear the studs with no pearl at all. In 1986, Caroline wore the white pearls at her wedding to Edwin Schlossberg. She still has the set, and wears these earrings on very special occasions.
