Jacqueline Kennedy had many sets of pearls, and all of them were faux pearls.
Surprisingly, she did not own any strands of precious pearls in her entire collection. This necklace was inherited from her mother and is believed to have been strung between 1914 and 1924. This strand was designed by Coco Chanel, who believed that the clasp is an integral part of a necklace’s design and should be worn where it could be seen.
