This quarter scale Lilac Fairy costume from Sleeping Beauty has been created by renowned costume designer Vin Burnham.

A highly decorative and glamorous tutu, with appliquéed skirt and bodice panels edged in shot silk taffeta, encrusted with a combination of Swarovski crystals, seed pearls and very rare delicately shaped original 1920's gelatine sequins.

The bodice is covered with fine silver lace, and tiny swags of linked sequins festoon the shoulders. Silver leafed cabochons on the the tutu panels are surrounded by tiny antique bullion sprints.

Ombreed metallic lace and gelatine sequins glint through from beneath the top layer of lilac tinted silk tulle.

Each costume Ms Burnham creates is hand made to order. You can expect it will take between 4 and 6 weeks for your costume to be completed. Occasionally a long production time it required; we will notify you should such a delay occur.

This costume is hand made and no two costumes will be identical. Please note that no additional discounts will be applied.

Ms Burnham started her career in London at Covent Garden in the Fonteyn and Nureyev era, making costumes and props for designers Nicholas Georgiadis, Yolanda Sonnabend, David Walker, Julia Trevelyan Oman, Maria Bjornson, Barry Kay, and Sally Jacobs.

She is now an international award winning costume designer working mainly in film and television.  Her costumes can be seen on stage at the Royal Opera House in London; her mouse costumes in Peter Wright’s ‘The Nutcracker’, masks in Andre Serban’s ‘Turandot’, dwarf costumes in Anthony Dowell’s ‘Swan Lake’, and headdresses in Kenneth MacMillan’s ‘Gloria’.
